I am trying to find the name a flower that I have heard called thrift or drift.?

Here in Georgia the flowers grow wild mainly around trees. They are small light purple flowers and they grow in waves, clumps or patches. If anyone knows what I am talking about or maybe even has a another nick name for the flowers that would be great! Thanks!

Phlox subulata - the common name is creeping phlox or creeping thrift. Check out the link below for photos.
Reply:Thrift is the common name for Armeria maritima. It is a hardy perennial that has grassy tufts that send out a flower spike with a globular type of flower. They do well on the coast and that is why they are also called sea pinks. The colors range from white to dark pinks to dark reddish tones. You can find quite a few cultivars available.

Reply:Thrift or Sea Pink is a common name for Armeria. It is smallish (under a foot) forms clumps, but it typically has pink flowers. Maybe what you have is Campanula or Serbian bellfower?
Reply:There is a plant called thrift. It does have purple blossoms. Try doing an image search on Google and type in thrift plant. It will show pictures of the flower.
Reply:Sounds like it could be phlox
