Can someone help me with meditation please?

Hey, when I was little I used to LOVE meditating outside, but as i've grown up i've kinda lost the ability to. I've been suspected of have adult ADD and manic depression, and no matter how much I try or what methods I use I cannot stop thinking for even a second (although i've found valium and diphenhydramine hydrochloride help, but i'd rather stay natural!)

It seems rediculous - like, I'll go sit outside next to a pond and surrounded by wild flowers and i'll try to relax, but there is always something in my head - if I try to think of nothing, it just becomes really pointless random stuff in my head! For example, if I try focusing on my breathing, i'll find myself thinking about how a fish or a frog breathes or remembering high-school biology classes or even an episode of a TV show that had *anything* vaguely to do with breathing! I try saying 'Om' or using traditional chants to clear my head, and I find myself thinking about the origin of the phrase 'om'!

Advice appreciated!

Can someone help me with meditation please?

Reply:try meditating by focusing on all the sounds around you i have schizophrenia and meditating on all the sounds around you helps to calm your mind very easy ring me if you have any questions on 0401491868
Reply:-Try listening to white noise (I like a babbling brook myself).

-Count your breath to four and repeat - if you try to count to 100 or something you will always get distracted.

-Focus on one point, like a candle flame

-Go with a teacher until you can do it by yourself, their voice is very calming.

Good Luck

Reply:The first thing I do before meditating is close your eyes....take a deep breathe in inhaling all that is good and pure hold in for a while then exhale all that is bad and upure until you've exhaled every last bit of air ...repeat this 3 times.

Just think of all that good and for the highest good...listen to

the beauty of nature surrounding you and give thanks.

I hope this helps you !
Reply:Interesting question...

I remember meditating frequently at the closest park to my house when i was a kid. I stopped when i got older, i didnt even realize until recently that thats what i had been doing and have only recently started again.

I used to have the same thing, though i had the problem while i was trying to sleep.

I could not shut down my mind, if i tried to empty my mind i would have seemingly random thoughts just flowing off of any tangent from a previous thought.

eventually i saw a naturopath for an un-related issue and i got it all sorted out then.

i think the problem was that my acid/alkaline balance was out and that i was over adrenal stimulated.

Maybe you have the same type of thing? whats your diet like? i always liked coffee and coke and that and didnt eat enough green veggies and i think it was that that my body couldn't compete with.

after getting a better acid alkaline balance by drinking green juice and cutting other forms of stimulants like fizzy drinks from my diet, ive found i can still have coffee but without being over stimulated enough as to be unable to focus or empty my mind properly.

also it may just take some time to practice and get back into it.

if your mind doesnt empty when you sit down to meditate, try not to let it get at you too much, just relax and try and make some progress each time. hopefully it will eventually become natural to do it.

as far as setting goes i prefer to be able to meditate when there is distractions - thats when i want the ability the most. one way to negate distraction is to focus on something in the body, like holding your hands apart in the air or pinching your fingers.

hope that helps

Good Luck : )

Your case is very simple (think in that manner) now go through this writeup. Try it it is very simple.

AUM TRATAK MEDITATION

Keep the Flame of AUM Yog Burning

Hatha yog is the combination of Ham and Tham, representing the masculine and feminine aspects of our existence, and also the mental and physical force.

The ultimate aim of Hath yog is the union of Shiv and Shakti or the awakening of the KUNDALINI, the hidden potential within us.

There are many ways of doing Hath Yog. Its practice begins with purification of the physical body, the carrier of energy and the meridians or nadis. There are some ASHANAS and PRANAYAMAS practiced to make the body TOXIN – FREE.

Once this is achieved, the body becomes ready to carry the KUNDALINI SHAKTI.

AUM TRATAK MEDITATION is practiced to make the mind focused. In the beginning itself the practitioner feels its effect. In long run it brings Personality Change.

AUM TRATAK MEDITATION practice requires expert supervision for once or twice, and then it can be practiced with self-supervision.

AUM TRATAK MEDITATION if done early morning, we get the extra benefit for the full day, it can be done at any time which ever is suitable to our days routine, even at night it can be done, but we must try to stick to the regular same time daily. Which makes the habit in our daily body routine to in take the awakening of the KUNDALINI SHAKTI.

AUM TRATAK MEDITATION - how to do it.

(1) Sit straight in any meditative posture.

(2) Place the AUM COLOUR THERAPY – AUM at eye level, at five to seven feet length, away from the eye.

(3) Light insence stick (Agarbati) of any aroma, which suits you, the best.

(4) Start the audio system AUM MEDITATION CASSEETEE OR CD.

(5) Take your position in meditative posture, close your eyes for two minutes, relax and become aware of the natural breath and sound of AUM.

(6) Slowly one your eyes and focus to the AUM COLOUR THERAPY – AUM at the Centre.

(7) Along with the audio sound of AUM, you also same way repeats AUM with feeling and makes the ear hear the sound.

(8) You can absorb AUM without blinking as long as your eyes are comfortable – for approx. 9 minutes.

(9) When you are doing tratak with sound, with your eyes you are drinking the colours as per your body requirement.

(10) After doing the AUM TRATAK for NINE minutes slowly close your eyes and search for the after image. Do not struggle to get it, it appears on its own, try to bring it to the eyebrow Centre, keeping the eyes closed.

(11) Rub both palms together, generate sufficient heat and place the closed palms over the closed eyes without touching the eyelids. Hold for thirty seconds and gently open your eyes.

He who meditates on Om becomes a spiritual dynamo.

He radiates Joy, Peace and Power to those who come in contact with him. He fills the world with spiritual vibrations. He becomes a channel for the inflow of spiritual force or divine energy. He knows the relationship between the universe and man, between man and man, between man and Brahman. He beholds the Self in all beings and all beings in the Self eventually. The whole mystery of creation and the riddle of this universe are revealed into him. He becomes a spiritual hero in the adhyatmic battlefield who has won the laurels of knowledge of Self by gaining victory over the mind and senses, the enemies of knowledge -and peace.

The goal can only be attained through the Dhyana on this mystic symbol Om. Meditation on Om is the only real, royal road to the attainment of salvation.

‘Meditation kills all pains, sufferings and sorrows. Meditation destroys all causes of sorrow. Meditation gives vision of unity. Meditation induces sense of oneness. Meditation is a balloon or a parachute or the - jet plane that helps the aspirant to soar high into the realms of eternal bliss, ever-lasting peace and undying joy.’

OM WITH PRANAYAMA

You can associate Om with the breath during the practice of Pranayama. Mentally repeat `O' during inhalation and 'M' during exhalation. This will increase the efficacy of Pranayama. This is sagarbha pranayama. You can keep Om for constant ajapajapa also. Watch the breath and repeat `O' during inspiration and `M' during expiration. You can do this practice while walking also. Put sufficient force into the thoughts of Om. Feel that Om is coming from your Soul. This will raise your consciousness to a very high plane: You will become one with the Soul, the Atman. ·

Meditate that the single letter, the supreme light; the Pranava, Om is the origin or source of these three letters `A', `U' and `M'. Inhale the air through the left nostril for the space of sixteen matras, meditate on the letter `A' during that time, retain the air for the space of 64 matras, meditate on the letter `U' during the time; exhale for the space of 32 mantras and meditate on the letter `M' during that time. Practice this again and again in the above order. Begin with 2' or 3 times and gradually increase the number to 20 or 30 times according to your capacity and strength. To begin with keep the ratio 1 : 4 : 2. Gradually increase the ratio to 8:64:32. The practitioner will get great peace of mind and inner strength. Kundalini will be awakened. He will soon enter into Nirvikalpa Samadhi.
